NEWS: BEALERT team at Climateurope2 conference in Belgrade

The BEALERT team attended the Climateurope2 conference in Belgrade from September 29th to October 1st, 2025. This significant event brought together environmental agencies, policymakers, and organizations working on climate science, heat monitoring, and mitigation, among other initiatives aimed at improving public well-being and quality of life. Surrounded by experts and leaders in the field, we used the opportunity to evaluate potential activities that could be implemented or adapted to our areas of operation.
Throughout the conference, we showcased the BEALERT project at the Marketplace, engaging with a diverse range of participants and sharing insights about our work. On the second day, with the lead of PP8 – Center for Research and Policy Making from North Macedonia, we hosted a World Café session. This interactive format allowed us to gather valuable, real-time feedback from attendees on the upcoming BEALERT early warning platform.
The conference highlighted the urgent need for comprehensive climate adaptation strategies, and through our session, we explored key practical aspects of early warning systems. The feedback was clear: people want warning systems that are trusted, transparent, and unified. Participants emphasized the importance of supporting these systems with strong educational initiatives, awareness campaigns, and community engagement. This holistic approach ensures that everyone receives the right message at the right time, empowering individuals and communities to take timely action in the face of climate risks.
